Cake Ball

These would make great visiting gifts. We've been having a few guests visit us lately and I always feel bad because we never have any good treats ready. These cake balls are adorable and requires no cutting!

Yesterday Big Tru turned 35 while our little one turned 2 weeks old. Little Tru had his first photoshoot yesterday by our friend Marci. Here's a sneak peek of one of the shots. Check out her beautiful work here.

I have been searching forever for a yellow rose flower pattern and just found it on Rubie Green- and on the perfect headboard too. Don't care if Tru thinks it's too girly- have to get this!

We were thinking about dressing little tru like a pirate today but these baby costumes also would've been fun. Tru would've loved the Darth Vader one. I like the muscle cave man.=) Happy Halloween, don't eat too much candy!

Koreans have this thing about what we're suppose to do post-baby...can not go outside for 3 weeks, no shower, no lifting heavy things, no drinking ice cold drinks and eat lots and lots of hot seaweed soup till you feel like you will become one. Sorry to disappoint my mom, I couldn't follow most of those rules but I have been eating the seaweed soup and just about had it at week 2. I would love to order me some of these yummy mail order foods.

We were at Trader Joe's the other night and I noticed a girl with a cute pair of shoes and wondered where she got them. And maybe it's coincidence but when we got home we turned on the tv to see a show on the same shoes- toms. I'm so inspired by his story, not only does he make a great product but has even a great vision for his company. Makes me wonder what we can do with our company.

I'm slowly getting used to the idea of e-mags although coming from a publishing background, I still have a soft spot for printed magazines. Tru hates them all stacked up at our home but I can't bare to let them go. I was so sad when Domino closed but reading Lonny gives me the fix I need. Love the fresh design and use of illustrations throughout.

We celebrated our jr's 1 week birthday yesterday. Thank you to all that has sent us your love and support, it really means so much to us=)
It has been literally the longest week of our lives. We have been pee'd and poo'd on, jr. pee'd on his face, daddy tru almost passed out cutting little trus nails and pumping out little boogers, were so tired that we tried to put his diapers on backwards, went days without brushing my hair...it still takes two of us to change and feed him but slowly we're getting the hang of things. We'll try to keep our posts regular now but please forgive us if baby tru takes over for a little while longer!

We are so sorry to not have blogged this week but little tru finally decided to come join us! He was born this past Sunday, 10/18 at 9:01pm weighing 6.5 lbs. We are so delirious with happiness and from lack of sleep these days...we did not know how fast the days went by and it's already Friday. We'll post some better pictures soon but here he is from my cell phone the first day of his little life.

Wish we could jump in a car and do one last mini trip before the baby comes...I would love to visit Portland one day. Definitely want to stay at the Ace hotel. It's literally our last free weekend w/out baby!

We had more things to get for the baby this weekend but took a little detour on route to bed bath and beyond to enjoy the sunny crsip weather yesterday. Started off with after church brunch with our friends Anna and Sean from Sub-studio. They gave us the cutest little t-shirts for little tru.
Then we took the bus down and ended up at Washington square park and did some walking and window shopping. Tru and I used to eat here all the time, it's been years since we've been back but they used to play silent Charlie Chaplin movies projected on the walls.
Hate the dentist but loved this old fashioned window!
Heard that City bakery is moving into this old neighborhood bakery! I have always loved this shop and so glad to know another beloved bakery will continue on here.
One of our favorite Sunday break spots- must try the banana donut at Balthazar's bakery. We can sit here forever and people watch.
Check out this new store by J.crew. This link is for the tribeca shop but the one we went to is on Broadway next to Madewell.
It was such a nice day and surprisingly I was able to walk around quite a bit! Slowly but it felt better than just sitting at home...waiting for baby to come! One of our last stop before heading up to do our shopping was the Jack Spade store. These two hankerchiefs says it all for me this late morning.

We're so anxious waiting for our little Tru jr to arrive any day now! Thought it'd be fun to share all the things 'tru' out there...the latest one Tru found is the 'Truman chocolate' site. Happy weekend everyone! If we stop blogging...then that means we're in labor!

We just got our copy of the nest! A few months ago, we had a photoshoot in our studio for a story on couples that work together. That was the last time I got to fit into my jeans! I'm due in less than 2 weeks so it's count down time!

So Tru is full on to nesting mode...we took Tuesday off to clean, organize and put together baby furniture...all day long...me? I think I'm so worried about work that I'm trying to figure out how to sneak my laptop in with me to the hospital! So last night Tru was online looking for more things to buy for the baby when he saw this cute Kiddimoto wooden balance bike from sub-studio. Usually I would roll my eyes when he tries to justify what we 'need' vs. what he 'wants' but have to admit that this is pretty irresistible.

So beautiful to look at these covers altogether as well as individually...almost doesn't even matter what the title says, my eyes just glaze over the entire cover as one piece of art. Have to admit, we have books in our apartment solely because we like the design, not necessary because we read it!

We're so excited to be part of the new Felt & Wire Shop! It's a new addition to the felt & Wire Blog - great place for all those that love all things paper and design. I love the concept for this online shop because it's completely curated and sellers are edited and picked with much thought. We're so flattered to be a part of it. Hope you all check it out!

These shots aren't the best but we had a pretty exciting week. Tru and I have been working on our first book! It comes out next fall and we have to wait awhile to share all about it but we wanted to share some behind the scene shots. It was months of preparation, late nights and stressful moments but we had an amazing team and the photos look so beautiful and we can not wait for it to come out! We'll keep you posted as the project progresses and we are able to discuss all the details! Stay tuned!

The wedding we attended was at the Kahala Resort, it's always nice to find when places like this pay attention to every little detail like having beautiful stationery. This box is lovely too. It was placed in the lobby for guests.

ok, that may be a cheesy intro header but how fun are these! Tru was the bestman at our friends wedding in Hawaii. He's wearing the Darth Vader one and the groom has the Yoda.

We had dinner at this delicious place called Gjelinda with the Urbanic couple when we visited. Even spotted a celeb in our midst- miss Alicia Silverstone. There's a quiet back courtyard area where you can just chill out and hang with your friends and actually hear yourself talk! Loved it, we have to go back.

We're back finally from a long vacation that was long overdue. I don't know if I'm rested or more tired but it was nice to get away for awhile. One stop we made was visiting our friends at Urbanic + Neighborhood ~ two of the cutest couples we know! The shops are even cuter than we imagined. Joshua runs the clothing shop and Audrey takes care of the stationery but the two stores are actually joined together in the back so they can go back and forth quite easily. Tru and I just loved it and made us want to open one of our own one day...
In the next few days, we'll be recapping our trip and some fun finds along the way. Hope everyone is well, we missed blogging!

Just a quick hello! We will be back next Friday but wanted to share a pic of the beautiful ocean view. I can't do much but wobble around but the weather is amazing and the sand feels amazing for my swollen feet.
Check out our studio that Vane from Brooklyn Bride posted a few days ago! Jordan from Enormous Champion was so kind to do a mini shoot for us.
